Menstrual Health, Gender Roles and Equality

26th March 2026

This Women’s Month, we brought together parents, grandparents, and carers for an open and meaningful conversation about menstrual health — a topic that is often overlooked, yet deeply important in the lives of girls and women.

The session created a safe space to learn, share, and challenge the stigma that still surrounds periods. We were especially encouraged to see fathers actively participating, reinforcing that supporting girls is a shared family responsibility.

Key takeaways from the session:

  • Open conversations at home help build confidence and reduce shame
  • Menstrual health is a vital part of overall wellbeing, not just a “women’s issue”
  • Education empowers both girls and the adults who support them
  • Fathers and male carers play an important role in normalising the conversation

Together, we took a step toward creating more informed, supportive, and compassionate environments for our daughters and future generations.
