Afrikindness is proud to announce that it has secured funding from Blooming Genius to deliver a dedicated Neurodiversity Family Support Programme in Leeds, aimed at supporting neurodiverse children aged 5–17 with complex needs and their families.
To mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Afrikindness hosted a powerful and timely webinar titled “From Intent to Impact: Removing Barriers to Neuro-Inclusive Engagement.” The session brought together over 120 participants from across four continents, including representatives from local authorities, government, education, businesses, and the voluntary sector.

Afrikindness is delighted to announce that we have been awarded Highly Commended – Diversity Project of the Year, sponsored by Dawson Group, at the Leeds City Council Compassionate Awards. This recognition is deeply meaningful — not only because it celebrates our work, but because it comes from home.
Afrikindness is proud to have supported over 85 families through the Household Support Fund (HSF) – a Central Government initiative administered by Forum Central. With a grant of £5,000, we were able to provide essential welfare support (£50 food vouchers) to families in our network, particularly those facing financial hardship and multiple vulnerabilities.

The 2024/2025 academic year marked an exciting milestone for Afrikindness as we officially launched the Afrikindness GCSEPod platform—a unique supplementary education programme designed to empower students through independent learning, revision, and structured support.
We are thrilled to announce that Afrikindness has received funding from Leeds Community Foundation to deliver a 3-year Digital Inclusion Programme aimed at supporting digitally excluded and isolated parents within Leeds’ diverse communities.
