Afrikindness was honoured to feature on Lagos Talks 91.3 FM as part of Today in Global Health (TiGH), an expert-led radio programme focused on raising awareness of global public health issues and promoting meaningful discussions on health and wellbeing.

Today in Global Health (TiGH) was established to increase public understanding of key health topics and encourage informed conversations on global health developments. The

programme reaches over 2.3 million listeners across West Africa and international audiences through its weekly broadcasts.

During the programme, Afrikindness contributed to important discussions on mental health, wellbeing, parenting, neurodiversity, and culturally responsive support for families within African and ethnic minority communities. The conversation highlighted the importance of early intervention, community-based support, and creating safe spaces where families can access information, guidance, and support without stigma.

The discussion featured contributions from mental health professionals, educators, parents, and community advocates who shared expert insights, lived experiences, and practical approaches to supporting children, young people, and families.

Afrikindness was pleased to use the platform to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing diverse communities and to share its ongoing work promoting inclusion, community empowerment, positive mental wellbeing, and stronger family support systems.

The organisation remains committed to championing open conversations around mental health and believes that culturally informed approaches are essential to reducing stigma, improving understanding, and strengthening support within communities.

Listeners are encouraged to listen to the talk on Spotify.
