Afrikindness provides practical, supportive, accessible digital skills training for individuals, families and community groups, from complete beginners to those seeking more advanced skills.

What we offer
10-week digital skills training programmes
Each programme runs over 10 weeks with hands-on activities, guided practice and personalised support — plus access to Learn My Way and an Afrikindness Digital Skills Certificate on completion.
Training
Beginner Digital Skills
Our beginner sessions are suitable for people with little or no experience of using digital devices.
Participants can learn how to:
- Introduction to Digital Devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets)
- Use a keyboard, mouse and touchscreen
- Connect to Wi-Fi and internet basics
- Create and manage an email account
- Search for information online
- Complete online forms
No previous digital experience is required. Our trainers provide patient, step-by-step guidance in a friendly and supportive environment. Participants will also complete the Learn My Way modules and undertake a final assessment to receive an Afrikindness Digital Skills Certificate of Completion in recognition of their achievement.
Training
Intermediate Digital Skills
Our intermediate training is suitable for people who already have some basic digital knowledge but would like to improve their confidence and independence. Participants must have covered all topics in Beginners Module.
Participants can learn how to:
- Write and format documents
- Organise files and folders
- Use email more effectively
- Download and upload documents
- Use cloud-based platforms & Cloud Storage (Google Drive, OneDrive)
- Video Calls and Virtual Meetings (Zoom, Teams)
Participants must have completed the Learn My Way modules and will undertake a final assessment to receive an Afrikindness Digital Skills Certificate of Completion in recognition of their achievement.
Training
Advanced Digital Skills
Our advanced sessions help participants develop skills for employment, volunteering, education, business and professional development.
Training may include:
- Spreadsheets and Basic Data Handling (Excel/Sheets/Forms)
- Document creation using Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
- Online collaboration tools – google docs
- Introduction to photo and video editing
- Digital communication and presentation skills
- Compressing files, Understanding cloud, how mobile Apps works and how to back-up data.
Training can be adapted to meet the needs of community organisations, employers, schools, charities and specific participant groups
Recognition
Afrikindness Digital Skills Certificate
Complete any 10-week programme and receive a certificate recognising your commitment and newly acquired skills — plus ongoing access to Learn My Way.

Via the National Device Bank, eligible individuals and families may access laptops, tablets and phones.

Digital Inclusion Lead & Trainer
A semi-retired software engineer with over 30 years' experience in banking, having worked on large-scale projects with engineering teams across the globe. Outside of work he enjoys sport, photography, gaming and the latest gadgets.

Vivian Agbi
Community Digital & Welfare Lead
a dedicated community development and environmental professional with a Master’s degree in Environmental Management. She leads on community welfare, connecting participants with wider support alongside their digital skills journey.

Agla Fadeel
Community Digital Coach
studied Business and Tourism Management. Having completed the Afrikindness Digital Inclusion Training, she now serves as a Community Digital Coach, helping individuals develop essential digital skills and confidence to access online services safely and effectively.
