Afrikindness is proud to announce the launch of its Youth Mentoring Programme, officially welcoming its first cohort of young people into a structured journey of personal development, leadership growth and positive identity building.
This new programme brings together young people aged 16–18 with experienced professional mentors who will guide, support and inspire them as they navigate education, relationships and future aspirations. The mentors bring a wealth of expertise from a range of sectors and are committed to helping young people build confidence, resilience, communication skills and leadership capacity.
Afrikindness extends its heartfelt thanks to all the mentors who have volunteered their time, knowledge and lived experience to support this important work. Their contribution is helping to create safe, empowering spaces where young people feel seen, heard and valued.
The programme is delivered using the FAST approach, a structured mentoring framework designed to help young people stay focused, take positive action, receive consistent support, and build trusting relationships with their mentors.
This approach ensures that mentoring is not only aspirational but also practical, consistent and impactful.

Speaking about the launch, Afrikindness highlighted that mentoring is essential because it provides young people with trusted role models, helps them navigate challenges, and opens doors to opportunities they may not otherwise access. For many participants, this programme represents a turning point in their personal and educational journey.
The launch of this first cohort marks an important milestone in Afrikindness’s mission to empower young people from diverse communities to thrive with confidence, purpose and ambition.
