Parenting is a fulfilling yet demanding journey, where caregivers invest substantial physical, emotional, and mental energy in meeting the complex needs of their children. External stressors, such as pandemics and economic challenges, can exacerbate parental burnout. Research indicates that maintaining parental well-being is crucial, as it forms the foundation for effective caregiving.

What is Self-Care for Parents?
Self-care for parents goes beyond spa days; it’s a holistic practice encompassing emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

Contrary to the misconception, it’s not a luxury but a necessity for managing stress and fostering resilience.

Neglecting self-care can compromise a parent’s ability to support their children, impacting both parent and child’s health and happiness. Prioritizing self-care is an investment in the family’s collective well-being.

Our host and Parent Team Lead, Dr. Pedi Obani, had an enlightening conversation with Self-care experts, Psychologist and Life Coach.

The webinar discussed:

  • Understanding burnout, including triggers and early signs
  • Impacts of burnout
  • Feminist perspectives on parental burnout
  • Common inhibitors of self-care and how to overcome these
  • Practical strategies for addressing parental burnout and managing stress
